Archive conversion extracts regular files and directories, then packages them in the selected destination format. It does not preserve every source-specific feature. Links, devices, unsafe paths, duplicate paths, excessive entry counts, expanded-size overflows, and suspicious ZIP compression ratios are rejected instead of copied into the result.

One archive is processed per request inside the private archive worker. The worker checks the container, limits extraction to 200 entries and 100 MB of expanded data, validates the output archive, and deletes the temporary directory. Inspect the filenames and open several representative files before discarding the source archive.

Choose ZIP or 7Z when recipients need a common downloadable archive, and use TAR with the required compression method for Unix-oriented packaging. ISO output is a nonbootable data image, not an operating-system installer. Repacking does not repair damaged files inside the source, so compare entry counts and verify important file hashes when exact preservation matters.
